MULTI-AWARD-WINNING martial expert Wilfred Mashaya arrived at Robert Gabriel Mugabe Airport from Bangladesh’s International BG Karate Championship on December 31 to a jubilant celebration.
The crowd excitedly welcomed the karate master and showered him with praise and recognition.
Karate enthusiasts and fellow martial artists of Zim Ninja Academy turned the airport into a spectacle of skills heralding Mashaya’s return after clinching gold in Bangladesh’s International BG Karate Championship.
Amidst the cheering crowd, Mashaya proudly displayed his hard-earned treasures – a gold medal, a winning trophy, a first-prize certificate, and an additional honorary trophy. These accolades recognized his victory in Bangladesh and his dedication, discipline, and consistency in martial arts.
Mashaya’s impact is acknowledged for his role in developing various martial arts styles in Zimbabwe, including Bujinkan Ninjutsu, Kyokushin Karate, Kobudo, and Self Defense.
The welcoming committee at RG Mugabe Airport was comprised of a diverse group of Zimbabwean citizens, including sports professionals, members of the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the Zimbabwe Karate Union (ZKU), media professionals, martial artists, family, and friends.
Dr. Tapiwa Nyakudya, the ZRP Deputy Chief Director of Health Services, led the delegation, along with Superintendent Edmund Madzonganyika, Superintendent Ballot Gatsi, Superintendent Stella Christine Swedi, Inspector Cleopas Ndlovu, and other members expressed their collective pride in Mashaya’s accomplishments.
