Veteran football administrator Wellington Mpandare has been appointed the General Manager for all national teams by the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) on a three-year contract.
Mpandare has been given a huge responsibility to take Zimbabwe football to the next level.
” The position comes with huge responsibilities which the board felt match the experience possessed by Mpandare who has served in an almost similar capacity in the past.
“Apart from the usual responsibility of the team manager of the warriors, Wellington will also be responsible for all logistical and welfare issues for other national teams. He will work hand in glove with team managers of the other teams to improve organisational aspects around team games”, said Xolisani Gwesela, the ZIFA communications and competitions manager.
Soon after his appointment, the veteran administrator expressed his excitement about this new challenge.
” I am very much delighted to serve my country in this capacity again. This is not an easy job but l am appealing to all stakeholders to give us the support we desperately need. I know that if we work hard together we will bring more success to Zimbabwe football.”
