ZIMBABWE Senior Men’s team coach Zdravko Logarusic has been relieved of his duties following a string of poor results that saw him win one match in 14 outings.
The Croat became the first foreigner to take the Warriors to the Africa Cup of Nations Finals, filling a 0-1 win over Botswana in Francistown, the only win of his largely unsuccessful reign.
He drew nil-all against South Africa at home in the opening Group G World Cup Qualifier before going down 1-0 to minnows Ethiopia last week.
This proved to be the final nailing of his coffin, and rightfully so ZIFA Executive Committee could only but recommend his departure.
Logarusic has been sent packing together with his entire technical team.
“ZIFA would like to inform the football fraternity and the nation at large that it has amicably parted ways with Senior Men’s team coach Logarusic,” said ZIFA spokesperson Xolisani Gwesela in a statement today.
“The decision was arrived at upon consideration by the full Executive Committee of all the various relevant circumstances pertaining to the coach’s contract. The entire technical team has also been disbanded.
“The appointment of the interim technical team shall be announced in due course as the Executive Committee has already set in motion the process.”
