PGS Choir set to launch Fusion Worship 5
POPULAR music ensemble Peace Gospel Singers (PGS) is next week set to launch its fifth annual live musical video recording titled Fusion Worship 5.
Themed “Bringing in the sheaves”, this year’s event is scheduled to take place on November 4 in Harare.
The choir director, Itai Sandras told EnterSportNews the 2023 red carpet event is the biggest to be held so far.
“We have seen massive growth and recognition especially since Fusion Worship 3,” he said.
“Fusion Worship 5 marks another phase of greater exploits to come.”
PGS is a christian interdenominational choir comprising over 70 members.
Founded by Sandras in 2017 and driven by a passion for music, members increased from the initial four people.
Sandras notes his 2014 hit-song Tinosimudza maoko which features minister Takesure Zamar helped boost his confidence.
“Our fans should prepare for a great music experience. We are recording 14 tracks,” he told EnterSportNews.
“We have artists of different genres including Kuda Mutsvene, Tume Siziba, Pastor Matende, and Minister Munashe.
“We expect people to give their lives to Christ through our music. They must also expect a revival.”
The choir director highlighted preparations are going well but he will only be settled after the event is over.
“We have seen growth, more players have come on board and we believe in God – it is going to be massive,” he explained.
The 2023 Fusion Worship 5 event marks a five-year fusion journey. Fusion Worship 1 was held in 2017, Fusion Worship 2 in 2018, only singles were released in 2019, Fusion Worship 3 was done in 2020 and was released in 2021, finally Fusion 4 was in 2022.
Sandras emphasised that PGS decided to make sure it captures people who enjoy different genres hence the formation of Fusion Worship.
“Every year auditions are held to grow the choir,” he said.
He concluded citing notable hiccups, “A few areas just need to be taken care of before the end of this week. Some of the sponsors have not yet completed their part.”
