NFZBBF Celebrates Success of Novice Championships

The National Federation of Zimbabwe Bodybuilding (NZBBF) recently hosted the successful Novice Championships as part of their effort to improve the sport.

The Novice Zimbabwe Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships held in Harare attracted a large number of male and female athletes from across the country.

Shidoshi Wilfred Mashaya, also known as the ‘Zim Ninja’, a multi-award winning martial arts expert, was among the invited guests at the event.

Ddoros Adam, from Harare’s Fitlife Health Club, won the Women Wellness Development category of a fitness competition. The tough competition saw Fadzai Muponi of Chitungwiza’s Act Dynamic Gym in second place. This was a remarkable achievement for Ddoros, who displayed incredible athleticism and dedication to her fitness regimen.

Jed Ansley of Harare’s Body Active Gym won the Senior Men Bodybuilding category in a closely contested competition, earning him the title of Mr. Novice. Ansley also won the best poser award. From Bulawayo’s Bodyworks, Carlton Phiri secured the silver medal in the Senior Men Bodybuilding category, while Tonderayi Manyika of Harare’s Master J Fitness Body Fitness took the bronze.

Quiet Shanghai, the general secretary of NFZBBF, was pleased with how the event went.

“We have maintained quality and standards in Novice,” Shangai said. “We have come a long way from humble gym venues.”

Elton Matakara from Metro Fitness in Harare won the Men’s Physique Open. Bismark Ngarura of Gym Nation in Harare came in second place, while Wilson Masvanise from Fitness First, also located in Harare, took the bronze medal.

Simbarashe Muteiwa won the Junior Men’s Bodybuilding contest from Raylton Gym in Harare. Pride Chawadzimba from Team Biceps in Harare took silver, while the bronze medal was awarded to Benjamin Varga from Profitness Health Club, located in Harare.
