NetOne Albun Honde Valley Marathon Promises Unforgettable Experience

THE highly anticipated second edition of the NetOne Albun Honde Valley Marathon is poised to surpass its impressive debut in 2023, promising an even more electrifying and impactful event.

Set to take place on November 23, the marathon will feature races for both men and women across four distances 42km, 21km, 10km, and 5km.

As the main sponsor, NetOne’s alignment with the event’s values of environmental stewardship, sustainable development, and community engagement has been a driving force behind the marathon’s growth.

“When Albun Fitness Club approached us as NetOne, we were thrilled to partner with them because the objectives of this marathon aligned well with our core values,” Rudo Vicente, the Public Relations Officer for NetOne said.

The first edition of the marathon was widely praised for its smooth execution, and the organisers are determined to build on that success.

“We are expecting something bigger and better since we have had ample time to prepare,” Vicente noted.

To create hype and get the community more involved, NetOne plans to organise various activations in the Honde Valley area before the event.

“We are also going to create an exciting and memorable event through an after-party that will be held after the marathon,” Vicente added.

NetOne’s Chief Commercial Officer representative, Tino Mukuchana expressed the company’s excitement to be a part of this platform for positive change and community engagement.

“This Honde Valley Marathon is not just a race, but it’s a platform for positive change in community engagement,” Mukuchana said.

In addition to the cash prizes NetOne will be bringing “additional prizes and giveaways to all the runners and supporters that are going to be there.”

Mukuchana emphasised that as long as participants are registered with OneMoney, an active account, they will be eligible to win water bottles and other exciting giveaways from NetOne.

The event has also attracted support from other key partners, such as First Mutual Microfinance and Nepro-Air.

The organisers have also secured the participation of CAG Travelling Coaches, who will be providing two buses for the event – one of which will be dedicated to branding opportunities for interested corporate partners.

“Something that we have never done. Something that I have never seen done. So, we’re going to be branding the coach. And I’m very excited about that as well,” Alois Bunjira, the founder of the event explained.

With the continued support of NetOne, the involvement of various stakeholders, and the promise of an even bigger and better event, the 2024 NetOne Albun Honde Valley Marathon is set to be a true celebration of community, sport, and sustainable development in the heart of Honde Valley.
