Mudzekenyi stars for Sables as they dismantle Burkina Faso

ZIMBABWE Sables proved to be too strong for the Burkina Faso Stallions following a 95-05 demolition of the Stallions in a one-sided affair at Old Georgians Sports Club this afternoon.

Zimbabwe new kid on the block Brendan Mudzekenyedzi who plies his trade in New Zealand, was the star of the day, crossing over the whitewash four times.

He was devastating with ball in hand and tormented the West Africans’ defence all afternoon.

Left-wing Matthew Mcnab put in another shift, scoring three tries to cap off a good day on the park.

The Sables have struggled with the kicking tee this year, but Dudlee White-Sharpley proved to be what they exactly need at this current juncture slotting 27 points from the boot.

White-Sharpley also proved to be handy when kicking for territory as he drove back Burkina Faso several times into their half with intelligent kicks.

Upfront Zimbabwe barely faced any challenges as they dominated most scrums, even those not off their feed. The visitor’s scrums were always on the back foot.

David Makamba, Adian Burnett, Sebastian Roche, Takudzwa Chieza, Tonderai Chiwambutsa and Skipper Brendan Mandivenga all managed to cross over the whitewash as they completed the riot.

As they say in the sport, you can only beat whoever is in front of you. Zimbabwe had just done that as they continue to build towards qualifying for the World Cup in 2023.
