THE Mt Pleasant Pool in Harare was a hub of sporting activity on Sunday as Triathlon Zimbabwe hosted the Zimworx Pink Triathlon.
The event was aimed at raising crucial funds for breast cancer awareness.
The Zimworx Pink Triathlon, led by cancer survivor and former president of the Judo Association of Zimbabwe, Debi Jeans, has raised funds for over a decade. Jeans emphasises the importance of understanding the purpose of such fundraising activities.
“We should aim to gain a deeper understanding of what we’re supporting,” Jeans told EnterSportNews.
The event had a substantial turnout and received significant attention. Pam Fulton, Triathlon Zimbabwe coach, was moved by the cause’s overwhelming support.
“We have gained many new supporters at our event, supporting fighters and survivors of cancer,” Fulton stated.
A notable highlight of the event was the strong collaboration of multiple partners who came forward to endorse the cause. Some of the noteworthy contributors included The Cancer Association of Zimbabwe, Zim Cycles, Pearlenta Nutri-Active, The Draught Man Dulux Zimbabwe, Cimas iGo, Schweppes Zimbabwe Limited, Safeguard Zimbabwe and Evolution Insurance Company Zimbabwe,.
The Zimworx Pink Triathlon raised funds and awareness of breast cancer. This year’s event showed the community’s commitment to making a difference.
