ZIMBABWE Women switched off in all departments as Thailand levelled the three-match T20I series 1-1 with a 53-run victory in the second match played at Takashinga Cricket Club on Saturday.
The decisive match is set for the same venue on Monday afternoon. Bowling off time is 12.30 pm.
Thailand opted to bat after winning the toss. Opener Natthakan Chantham made the toss count with a 65-ball 88 runs towards a defendable 154 runs for the loss of three wickets in the allotted overs.
Nattaya Bootchatham weighed in with 24 runs up the order, while Thailand captain Naruemol Chaiwai closed the innings unbeaten on 20 runs from 15 balls.
Loreen Tshuma picked two wickets for 27 runs in four overs for the Lady Chevrons, while Audrey Mazvishaya claimed one.
Thereafter came the spin barrage over after over from Thailand that left Zimbabwe reeling.
Opener Ashley Ndiraya fell for one run in the second over. Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano followed in the fifth over for five runs, with skipper Mary-Anne Musonda departing on the next ball for a golden duck to leave Zimbabwe deeply exposed on 23/3 after 4.3 overs.
Big hitter Precious Marange top-scored for Zimbabwe with 30 runs, Josephine Nkomo scored 25, while Modester Mupachikwa contributed 18 runs on a day the girls struggled to click with the bat.
Mazvishaya was the last batter standing on one run as Zimbabwe wobbled to 101 runs all out after 19.3 overs.
