Gilbert Netball is the official netball and ball equipment supplier for the Vitality Netball Superleague.
Kwangwa, who joined Surrey Storm in 2020, made history by becoming the first player from Zimbabwe to play in the Vitality Netball Superleague in England.
The steely defender has been making steady progress in England after being made one of the 19 brand ambassadors of Gilbert Netball in 2020, a testament to how highly she is regarded in the Vitality Netball Superleague.
The Njube born Kwangwa has become the poster girl for the Gilbert Netball products, tweeting on their official Twitter handle, Gilbert Netball had a photo of the defender wearing the limited edition of the evolution shoe charcoal, which is going for £79.99.
The Gilbert Netball brand has over 180 years of sporting heritage and manufactures netballs, netball specific clothing, footwear, and equipment used globally.
Kwangwa herself has designed a netball as part of her contract with Gilbert Netball. If approved by Gilbert Netball, the colourful ball inspired by the colourful Zimbabwe flag will be shipped to Zimbabwe under Kwangwa’s tutelage. She seeks to spread the game of netball throughout the Southern African country to unearth more gems in her mould or better.
UK based sports consultancy outfit Step Out 7 facilitated the Gem’s captain move to Surrey. The company’s director Michelle Welch believes the move will open doors for Kwangwa’s fellow Gems teammates in seasons to come.
