MUFAKOSE Area A came together for a day of celebration and inspiration, featuring Guest of Honour, Zimbabwe Soccer Star Khama Billiat, and Special Guest, Zimbabwean multi-award-winning Martial Artist Shihan Wilfred Mashaya, also known as Zim Ninja on Saturday.

The event, organized by Lloyd Muchaka, Charles Thole, and the Mufakose Area A Organizing team, brought together locals and diasporans, all united by the common goal of spreading love, unity, and oneness.

The day was filled with soccer matches, including the Lodza Challenge match, featuring Mufakose Area A soccer legends, such as Lloyd Muchaka, Edgar Tapera, and other greats. The event also served as an opportunity to appreciate Mufakose Area A Legends and inspire the ghetto youths to do good things that can be emulated by society, taking lessons from Billiat and Mashaya.

Entertainment was provided by Tendai Primary School, which co-hosted the Lodza challenge matches, and Special Guest Zim Ninja, who gave a breathtaking performance, much to the delight of the cheering crowd.

The main event of the day was the AREA A AWARDS, where the community honoured their sons and daughters, past and present, who have put Area A on the map and have done exceptionally well in different fields ranging from Sports, Arts, academics, and business. Khama Billiat had the honour of presenting the awards to the Mufakose Area A winners.

The event was a resounding success, highlighting the talents and achievements of the Mufakose Area A community, and promising an even better event next year. The organizers aim to inspire and change lives in the community through initiatives such as these, with the support of both Mufakose Locals and the diasporans.

Some of the notable greats who came from Area A Mufakose and their achievements include Justice Muswe, former Zim Table Tennis player and president, Rony Mutandagayi, former ZB Bank CEO, Martin Dzuwa, the first black tennis player to win the Zim Open, Wilfred Mashaya, the Martial Arts World Champion, and winner of both the Zimbabwe Sports person of the year (2018) and Regional Sportsman of the Year (2019) and Hall of Famer. The list is endless.

This event was a celebration of the Mufakose Area A community, their talents, and their achievements, and a reminder of the great potential that lies within this small but mighty community.
