Harare City Women’s Volleyball Team Dominates Season Opener as Men’s Team Falters: A Tale of Contrasting Fortunes
HARARE City learnt the hard way that “the home belongs to women” Mushamukadzi after the men’s Volleyball team crashed to two defeats in the Harare Volleyball League season opener at Support Unit at the weekend while the women’s team kicked off on a perfect 100 per cent winning record.
The City men lost to Support Unit and Bindura Volleyball Club 2-3 and 3-0, respectively.
Conversely, their female counterparts ran 3-1 victors against AFC and Support Unit, respectively, boldly stating their intent this season.
Men’s defending champions, UZ Wolves and their SheWolves, did not participate in Week 1 due to what the league authorities called a technical fault.
