Harare City Men Stage Thrilling Comeback, Lady Citizens Maintain Winning Streak in Harare Volleyball Premier League
HARARE City Men beat Rhinos 2-3 in the Week 3 of the Harare Volleyball Premier League encounter at the University of Zimbabwe Courts to put their campaign back on track after an indifferent start to the season.
The Citizens had a slow start losing their maiden match of the season 3-2 against Support Unit. They have, however, been grinding results to keep up with the leading pack since then. On Sunday, Harare City has a date against Manyame Falcons and will be looking to emulate Saturday’s show to end the weekend on a positive note.
The Lady Citizens’ female counterparts continue to enjoy a purple patch in the league. They have had a blistering start to the 2023 season. On Saturday, they hammered Jewels and Pythons by identical 0-3 score lines to put pressure on UZ Wolves, who are yet to drop a set this season.
In the other matches played on Saturday, Old Hararians lost 0-3 to Mambas, Manyame Falcons fell 1-3 against Support Unit while Pythons lost in straight sets, 0-3 against NABA in the men’s division. UZ Wolves dismissed Mambas 1-3, Bindura Volleyball Club lost 0-3 against Support Unit, while NABA and Black Rhinos emerged 3-0 winners against Old Hararians and Pythons, respectively.
