THE Zimbabwe Gems made it two wins at the ongoing Pent Series in Windhoek after beating hosts Namibia 57-38 this afternoon as they recovered from Wednesday’s defeat against the experienced Uganda outfit.
Zimbabwe lost 40-79 against powerhouse Uganda after trailing 8-22 during the first quarter. Tomorrow the Lloyd Makunde coached side have an opportunity to add that victory when they date struggling Zambia.
In their first match, the Gems fell by the wayside when Malawi hammered 56-38.
The following day Zimbabwe beat Kenya to claim their first win of the campaign. Uganda laid ambush on the Gems as the East African side dismissed the team 40-79.
After Zambia, the Gems will remain in Namibia dr the Africa Cup Games, with holders South Africa expected to mount a serious challenge in their quest to retain the Cup
