Fitness trainer launches own fitness centre
FAITH Chaodza, a fitness trainer, launched her own fitness centre over the weekend as the demand for fitness and wellness services continues to grow.
The newly launched Crossfit Centre based at Allan Wilson High School in Harare will offer an array of fitness activities such as Zumba, Aerobics, Taebo and Cardio workouts.
Chaodza, who is also a Gofit founder and trainer speaking at the launch, said people must consider fitness activities and make it a lifestyle.
She also encouraged Zimbabweans to participate in fitness-related activities to stay fit and healthy, among many other fitness benefits.
“I think people should make fitness and workouts their lifestyle. It boasts one’s confidence, fights against some chronic diseases, fights against obesity which causes diseases that can lead to death and helps a person mentally and physically,” Chaodza told EnterSportNews.
The 31-year-old mother of three is passionate about sport and decided to go the fitness route almost a decade ago when such activities were less fashionable in this part of the world.
The launch of Crossfit Centre coincided with the commemoration of a decade of service in the fitness world.
CrossFit combines a full-body workout, aerobics, Zumba and weights training, and the centre is open to everyone.
“I’m targeting everyone interested in fitness, everyone who is interested in losing weight, getting fit, toned and just everyone who wants to live a fit lifestyle,” added the fitness trainer.
“It’s basically for weight loss, toning and a bit of bulking. It’s not for bodybuilding.”
Chaodza’s story is one of the tenacity of purpose and pursuing what one is passionate about.
It has not been smooth sailing for the fitness guru since she attained her fitness badges in 2010.
“Fitness has so many challenges, for example, hate and sabotage from fellow fitness trainers and also lack funds that can sustain you in terms of resources,” she said.
Her family and sponsors who found value in her work have been pillars on which CrossFit Centre has been built.
Zimbabweans have been slowly embracing fitness programs and many amateur runners taking part in various marathons.
