Felisitus Kwangwa’s Historic Journey with Surrey Storm Comes to an End

ZIMBABWE Netball captain Felisitus Kwangwa has been released by her Vitality Netball League franchise, Surrey Storm, after three seasons at the club.

Kwangwa was released together with nine other players from the SouthWest London franchise.

Another prominent player, Layla Guscoth, who won the bronze medal with England at the 2019 World Cup, will also not return to Surrey next season.

Surrey posted the photos of the 10 players released on X (formerly known as Twitter), thanking them for their contributions to the club.

Kwangwa made history by becoming the first Zimbabwean player to play in England’s Vitality Netball Super League.

She had a slow start in her first season and then acclimatised to her new surroundings and started putting in performances that earned her Player of the Match recognitions.

In her second season with Surrey, the defender started appearing more for her team and winning Player of the Match awards.
