Delta Beverages, the leading brewer in Zimbabwe, has revealed a staggering prize for the highly anticipated Carling Black Label National Pool Tournament.
The grand winner of this prestigious event will walk away with a generous sum of $2,500 and the coveted prize of a brand-new pool table. But the excitement doesn’t end there.
The first and second runners-up will also be handsomely rewarded, pocketing $1,500 and $1,000 respectively. Even the fourth-place finisher will receive a tidy $500 consolation prize.
Kundayi Mawema, Delta’s marketing manager for Lager Beer has confirmed the new development.
“The CBL National Pool Tournament has been a staple in our sporting calendar for over a decade, and this year, we’re taking it to new heights,” Mawema said
“This tournament isn’t just about showcasing the country’s top pool talents; it’s about creating life-changing opportunities for our loyal Carling Black Label consumers.”
With 26 centres across Zimbabwe set to host the regional tournaments, the finals will conclude in an exciting event in Harare on July 27.
Mawema revealed that the journey to the finals has already begun, with players registering via WhatsApp or USSD before the regional tournaments kicked off on June 1.
To ensure the tournament’s smooth operation, Delta has partnered with the Zimbabwe Pool Association (ZIPA) to conduct a comprehensive referees training seminar.
This initiative has equipped over 50 referees from the country’s 10 provinces with the knowledge and skills to officiate the matches in line with world-class standards.
“The Carling Black Label National Pool Tournament has always been a fan favourite, but this year, we’re taking it to new heights,” Mawema concluded.
“With a prize pool that’s sure to set pulses racing and a commitment to delivering a world-class experience, we’re confident that this year’s edition will be the most exciting yet.”
