Chirambadare Remanded In Custody On Sodomy Charges

FORMER Dynamos player Stanley Chirambadare was on Wednesday morning arraigned before the Magistrate courts on charges of sodomising a 13-year-old boy from his football academy and threatening him with death.

Appearing before Harare magistrate Denis Mangosi, the former Dynamos assistant coach was not asked to plead to allegations of aggravated indecent assault.

It is the state’s case that on March 21 this year, the teenage victim went to clean Chirambadare’s place as was the norm.

It is alleged that on this day Chirambadare closed the door and grabbed the boy’s waist before bending him.

It is further alleged that he pulled his pants down and violated him.

Allegations are that after the act, Chirambadare threatened the boy with death if he revealed the matter to anyone.

The court heard the abuse went on for several months until the victim developed some piles which required medical attention.

The teenager then told his uncle about the abuse and a report was made to the police resulting in Chirambadare’s arrest.

The former Dynamos stalwart is not new to allegations of a sexual nature after he was expelled from the local church for bedding a married woman from the same church.

Chirambadare was remanded in custody to May 13 and was advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
