RISING Gospel Group, MASALAD AJESU targets the elite with hope and redemption amidst widespread disillusionment among young people.
Meet 2ndDelon, the rising Afro-hip-hop star who is determined to inspire the young and old through his unique blend of traditional gospel and contemporary sounds.
“Growing up in a Christian family, my faith has always been the foundation of my life,” the artist, whose real name is Tinashe Karavina revealed in an exclusive interview with EnterSportNews.
“I chose gospel music as a way to share my personal experiences, my faith, and the message of salvation that has transformed me.”
2ndDelon, which means the second born and firm and strong, is a member of the group MASALAD AJESU, a collective of gospel artists passionate about uplifting the youth.
Drawing inspiration from renowned preachers like Prophet TB Bondera, as well as local gospel pioneers like Pastor G, Minister Michael Mahendere, and The Charambas, 2ndDelon has crafted a sound that resonates with listeners of all ages.
“I’m inspired by the Word of God, my personal journey, and the everyday realities of life,” he explained
“By blending traditional gospel elements with contemporary beats and melodies, I aim to create music that speaks to the hearts and minds of young people in Zimbabwe.”
Currently, the artist is focused on releasing an extended play (EP) titled “HOLY NEST,” which features four tracks that delve into themes of faith, hope, and redemption.
As he prepares for upcoming performances in Harare and Bulawayo, as well as online events, 2ndDelon remains undeterred by the challenges of limited resources and lack of exposure.
“As a gospel artist, my goal is to provide a positive, faith-based alternative that inspires the youth and promotes values rooted in the Word of God,” he said.
“Despite the obstacles, I remain steadfast in my mission, relying on the guidance of the Prophet and the support of my community.”
Focusing on the future, 2ndDelon envisions a future where he is a renowned gospel artist, collaborating with both local and international acts, while also mentoring the next generation of faith-driven musicians.
“Give your life to Jesus Christ, have faith, and never lose hope, even amid challenges. With God, all things are possible,” he emphasised.
As 2ndDelon continues to tread the waters of the gospel music scene, his commitment to uplifting the human spirit keeps him going.
