Econet Victoria Falls Marathon Expects Record-Breaking Turnout 

THE 2024 edition of the Econet Victoria Falls Marathon is gearing up to welcome more than 5,500 participants from across the globe, signalling a remarkable increase in athletes and running enthusiasts joining this year’s event.

Set to take place on Sunday, July 7, amidst the stunning backdrop of Victoria Falls, the Econet Victoria Falls Marathon has solidified its position as a key event on the international marathon circuit.

Ahead of the marathon, Dr Douglas Mboweni, Group Chief Executive Officer of Econet Wireless Zimbabwe, expressed the company’s enthusiasm for the upcoming event, highlighting the growing interest both locally and internationally.

“We are eagerly anticipating the Marathon and are delighted by the expanding appeal of the event, indicating a rising trend towards wellness and healthy living,” remarked Dr. Mboweni.

Now in its 16th year, the Econet Victoria Falls Marathon has established itself as one of the leading running events in Africa, offering various categories suitable for runners of all abilities. Participants can opt for the full 42km marathon, the half marathon (21km), a team relay, or the ever-popular 7.5km Family Fun run.
