TelOne Chess Club, in partnership with Mhondoro Chess, is set to host a tournament this Saturday in Harare.
The tournament is structured to cater to a wide array of chess players, featuring three competitive categories: FIDE-rated, Open, and U16, ensuring an inclusive battlefield for all levels of expertise.
The organizers have meticulously planned a 7-round event for the Open and U16 sections, where each player will have 15 minutes per round to make their mark.
In contrast, the FIDE-rated section, reserved for the more experienced competitors, will run over 5 rounds, with each player allocated a generous 1 hour per round.
This format provides a perfect opportunity for players to test their mettle, refine their strategies, and possibly rise through the ranks, either by securing FIDE ratings or distinguishing themselves from the competition.
This upcoming tournament marks a significant milestone following a preceding event hosted in March, underscoring the vibrant chess community’s ongoing activities and growth in Harare.
