Mavudzi Lands Nigerian Reality TV Show Top Post

…Season 1 Set to Premier this Year

LOCAL entertainment management expert Russell Mavudzi has been appointed country director for the maiden Nigerian-based Afrik Ultimate Hero Search reality television show, EnterSportNews has learnt.

Season 1 of the show is set to premier this year in Lagos, Nigeria and will feature representatives from 23 African nations for six weeks in one house mainly focusing on culture and cuisine.

“I am deeply honored by the appointment as I strongly value Africa culture and heritage,” Mavudzi who is also the Music Management Forum of Zimbabwe (MMFZ) Secretary-General and spokesperson told EnterSportNews.

“From the 9th of this month, my duties entail attending media interviews, meeting government agencies for endorsement, seeking company sponsorships and media partnerships.

“I am also responsible for handling Zimbabwean queries with regards to the show.”

In an interview, the show convener and Nollywood producer, Ambassador Thompson Ukeki said the reality television show will help revive the African food, cultural heritage and lifestyle of youths in general.

“This is a rebirth of our history, culture and tradition which is world acclaimed and has been in coma for decades,” Ambassador Ukeki told EnterSportNews.

“The Afrik Ultimate Hero Search will revive the history, culture and life of the past African centuries will now be exhibited to the world through this reality television show.”

Contestants will be screened online while a panel of judges will be chosen from the top celebrities in the African industry.

According to Ambassador Ukeki, 45 contestants will emerge from 23 African countries adding that the winner of the show will take home a grand prize of US$15 000, new SUV car and a trip to Dublin.

“Our audition is through voting, each contestant is to meet up with 1000 votes before they can qualify into the selection screening process that will be held in each country to select the best contestants who will represent their country on the show,” he emphasised.

Contestants are registered via the website, www.afrikultimateherosearch.com , and urged to follow the terms and conditions.

“I will organize a local live screening selection process among contestants who meet up with 1000 votes via questions and answers,” highlighted Mavudzi.

“Voting closing date will be communicated to the contestants via sms as our voting and audition closes same day.”

Mavudzi concluded the date of the reality television show will be communicated through the media and the show website, after meeting with country coordinators and partners.

Since 2021, at MMFZ Mavudzi works with artist managers, record label managers, bar and club managers.

MMFZ is an association of Music Managers registered by the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe and a member of the International Music Managers Forum registered in Luxembourg Europe.

Mavudzi has worked as artist manager for Mannex, Sebede and Another Trybe and Gary Tight. As a booking agent, he has worked with over 20 artists.

He has also coordinated various events with the Zimbabwe Tourism Association (ZTA), Winter Jazz Festival, Summer Jazz Festival, Chipaz Promotions and Jive Zimbabwe.
