Chiefs Village Lounge welcomes Zim’s “strongest man”
ANYONE who has visited Chiefs Village Lounge in Bulawayo will know that a healthy appetite is needed to tackle one of their signature meaty meals.
Chiefs Village Lounge will serve a wide range of meals and salads as well as burgers and such, with plenty of vegan and gluten-free options also on offer.
There will also be a wide range of hot drinks, soft drinks, alcoholic drinks and cocktails.
Designed as a lounge-restaurant it aims to be a “retro-inspired retreat” with vintage sofas, painted tables and “statement lighting”.
And so it we will all be more impressive that the Saturday one very special visitor will probably make any and all staggeringly large portions look like mere snacks when he visits the Bulawayo’s newest and arguably trendiest leisure spot.
The team at Chiefs Village Lounge and the strongest man himself took to social media to announce the event which is expected to herald the joint’s arrival on the leisure scene and the much anticipated feeding frenzy by ‘Oxaman’ Arnold Zikhali a behemoth of a man who has been unofficially crowned the ‘Strongest Man’ on these shores.
Just thinking about the Oxman eating at the Chiefs Village Lounge conjours images of him alongside his mammoth meal. This man can make a giant burger look like a slider or a two-slice sandwich!
In fact, he is likely to ask for the chef to load it with an extra buttermilk fried chicken breast!
Fans of the Oxaman and- naturally- meat will have an opportunity to see how small the strongman can make his dish appear when they join him for an “Eat All You Can Buffet” on the 5th of August in the City of Kings and Queens.
In his video drop in which he addressed the people of Bulawayo in ther native Ndebele language ahead of the event, the Oxman had the to say: “Kunjani Bulawayo omuhle? Linjani zithandwa zokudla okuhle?

A spokesperson for the family event’s management company said appart from the Oxman devouring a significant amount of food, he is also expected to regale his fans with various tricks to show off his strength.
“During the course of the day, we will start with Zikhali’s show of strength which will include truck pulling antics followed by an eating competition by locals. The winner of the eating competition wins meals for the rest of the week,” the spokesperson revealed.
Staff plan to make customers feel relaxed and feel like it’s their “home-away-from-home”.
The spokesperson for Chiefs Village Lounge added: “Particular attention will be paid to families with a selection of meals available. A full menu, high chairs and play facilities are also available for Little Loungers.”

A local socialite and TV personality, Themba Siziba said: “We welcome the Lounge to Bulawayo and I’m sure local residents will welcome this addition to our town centre offer.
“As well as providing a major boost for health and wellbeing in the area, the new leisure centre is aimed at increased town centre footfall and encouraging businesses, like the Lounge, to set up in the city.”
