Coca-Cola applaud triathletes

BEVERAGES manufacturing giant, Coca-Cola has expressed gratitude to the participants for giving a stellar performance at the just ended Bonaqua Africa Triathlon Cup Troutbeck which took place on Saturday in Nyanga.

The event featured senior and junior elite categories for both male and female athletes as Olympics hopeful went in search of vital qualifying points.

It also featured the Africa Triathlon Junior Cup, the Zimbabwe National Triathlon Championships as well as triathlon and dualthlon challenges among other categories.

Coca–Cola frontline marketing manager, Barry Otieno congratulated the winners and participants on their milestones.

“Sporting activities come with many wins, it is my belief that at the end of the day we are all winners,” Otieno said.

He added that the beverage manufacturing giant’s desire is to see sports develop both locally and globally.

“You came, you competed, you made friends and you networked. I believe you enjoyed being in our beloved Zimbabwe,” said Otieno.

He also thanked organizers, Triathlon Zimbabwe which always show aptitude and commitment to making events a success.

Coca-Cola are in their ninth year supporting Triathlon Zimbabwe, six years with Bonaqua water and the first three with their bottling partner, Schweppes water.

The other sponsors who partnered Triathlon Zimbabwe for the just-ended edition are iGo from Cimas, Toyota Zimbabwe, Rooneys, African Sun, Troutbeck Resort, Ecocash, CFAO Motors, Simbisa Brands among other stakeholders.

“I want to thank you all for making this event a success. Without participants the event would have been cancelled,” he said.

“I wish you safe journeys as you fly back to your respective countries and drive back home. All the best in your sporting careers.”
