ZCF Appoints New Secretary-General

Zimbabwe Chess Federation (ZCF) has appointed Todd Mapingire as the new Secretary-General.

He replaces Clive Mpambela in this active role of Zimbabwe Chess Federation.

Mapingire joined the ZCF in 2019 as the Chairman of the ZCF Harare Chapter. He has a wealth of experience in administration and carries the requisite experience of par excellence.

The new Secretary-General also played chess from the social and corporate level. He has both the academic and private sector experience in finance and administration needed for the secretariat post. Mapingire also brings to the table, business and corporate governance attributes which will have a valuable impetus in the running of Zimbabwe Chess Federation and plan to professionalize chess in Zimbabwe.

The administrator’s elevation to the post comes after the stepping down of Mpambela in March 2020, his appointment is with effect from the 1st of November 2020.

Mpambela stepped down after almost ten years of dedicated chess service in various positions within the executive.
