The Premier league resumption dates are uncertain but Highlanders should make a quick decision regarding the future of their head coach Mark Harrison.
The nomadic coach returned to his homeland after a mutual understanding since the club could not afford to pay his salary without any football activity. The uncertainty of the head coach is a cause for concern amongst Bosso fanatics.
Football will be back soon and the club should look forward to the new season well prepared and organized. By now the powers that be at Highlanders should have an idea of whether or not they have adequate funding for the upkeep of their foreign coach.
If resources permit, Mark Harrison must return immediately to make preparations for the upcoming season. Bosso should also consider appointing a local coach if resources do not allow them to retain the services of their foreign coach.
Already ZIFA has engaged the government seeking permission to start football activities. The football controlling body wants the local league to resume as soon as possible with the AFCON qualifiers in mind. Foreign-based players may not be released by their respective clubs over Covid-19 concerns.
Highlanders Football club should put their house in order before its too late otherwise their upcoming season will be a disaster.
