Zimbabwe bowling coach Douglas Hondo has been assigned on a temporary basis to be charge of the national team for the three One-Day International matches and as many Twenty20 international matches against Pakistan by Zimbabwe Cricket.
The decision was made following the request by the Embassy of India in Harare for head coach Laichand Rajput to be exempted from visiting Pakistan.
“Rajput has been exempted from visiting Pakistan for the limited-overseas tour per the travel guidelines stipulated by the government of India for its citizens”, Zimbabwe Cricket said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe cricket team has arrived in Islamabad today without their head coach for the tour.
